A hilarious tale of overachiever's angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling bee of a lifetime. The show's Tony award-winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.

The Premiere of "For the People", a musical comedy by Jim Ragan and Tracy Henry, will be presented by the RiverTowne Repertory Players in March.
"For the People" gives audiences a lighthearted look behind the scenes of the rough and tumble world of modern day politics. In this political romp, a race for the governor's seat is accompanied by seedy backroom deals, dramatic plot twists, unlikely campaign strategies and even a touch of romance. Blithe Spirit -- By Noel Coward (farce)
Charles Condomine, a successful novelist,wishes to learn about the occult for a novel he is writing. He arranges for an eccentric medium, Madame Arcati to hold a seance at his house. At the seance, she inadvertently summons up the ghost of Charles' first wife, Elvira. Only Charles can see her and his second wife, Ruth does not believe that Elvira exists. The ghostly Elvira makes increasingly desperate efforts to disrupt Charles' current marriage. She sabotages his car in the hopes that he will join her in the spirit world. But it is his current wife, Ruth who drives off and is killed. Now there are two ghostly wives to haunt him, more spells and a great deal of mayhem.

The scene is a night club, the Kit Kat Club in Berlin, as the 1920's are drawing to a close. The Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience to the show and assures them that, whatever their troubles, they will forget them at the Cabaret. As the Nazis begin their rise to power, American writer, Clifford Bradshaw visits Berlin, He makes friends with Sally Bowles, an English singer. His elderly landlord, Fraulein Schneider gets engaged to a Jewish greengrocer and soon Clifford finds he has been inadvertently helping the Nazis. Musical numbers include "It Couldn't Please Me More," "Willkommen," "Cabaret," "Don't Tell Mama," and "Two Ladies." A musical from a tumultuous and heartbreaking era.
